Oracle Linux 6 Update 10は以下のカーネルパッケージを同梱しています。

• x86-64向け
• Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) Release 4 (kernel-uek-4.1.12-124.16.4.el6uek) for x86-64
• Red Hat Compatible Kernel (kernel-2.6.32-754.el6)
• i386向け
• Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) Release 2 (kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.294.3.el6uek) for i386
• Red Hat Compatible Kernel (kernel-2.6.32-754.el6)

デフォルトでは、特定のアーキテクチャ（i386もしくはx86_64）のUEKならびにRHCKがインストールされ、システムはUEKを使ってブートします。

Application Compatibility

Oracle LinuxはRed Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)とのユーザー空間の互換性を保っており、これはOS以下のカーネルバージョンに依存しません。既存のユーザー空間のアプリケーションは、Oracle Linux 6 Update 10とUEK Release 4の組み合わせの上で、変更せずに引き続き動作します。すでにアプリケーションがRed Hat Enterprise Linux 6やOracle Linux 6での動作保証が済んでいる場合、再認証は必要ありません。

Notable updates in this release:

• Retpoline Support Added to GCC
  このアップデートで、retpolines へのサポートをGNU Compiler Collection （GCC）に追加しました。カーネルはこのテクニックを使って、CVE-2017-5715で説明されているSpectre Variant 2攻撃を軽減するオーバーヘッドを削減します。
